Urban and Growing Organically

Growing a sustainable organic garden in a small urban setting and teaching the kids that they can really grow food anywhere is a life lesson that I hope they can pass down to their own children.

easy steps grow your own organics

For me gardening provides a break from my fast paced days filled with school (me teaching it), homework, soccer, girl scouts, or baton, etc... It gives me a much needed stress reducer!  Seriously, I even had to stop writing this about 20 times to answer a million questions from the kids...

the two garden boxes are overflowing

It also provides our family with fresh food that has not been grown with pesticides and chemical fertilizers while supplementing our food budget.  Buying Organically isn't always cheap!

Art Class & Burgers!

Yup, those two don't usually go together...

Well Huntington Beach has an awesome street fair on Tuesday evenings called Surf City Nights. Farmers market, street vendors, music and community! It reminds me of when I lived in Monrovia and the Friday Night Family Festival in the middle of Old Town Myrtle Avenue.

That is what brought us to 2nd Floor.
Well actually Kids eat free on Tuesday Nights did.  And a Bonus...
Kids get a free art lesson too!

Also the art teacher Kevin McMahon is super awesome and patient with the kids.
